Trail Ridge Road, Rocky Mountain National Park,
Colorado
The Trail Ridge Road is the
highest elevation paved highway in any U.S. National Park climbing to an
elevation of 12183 feet. The following photos were taken by John Nordin on 22
June 2009 (except the elk in fog photo which was taken in July):

Weather
changes quickly with dense fog rolling in. These elk were photographed from
the car along Trail Ridge Road at 12100 feet.
At lower elevations, elk
peacefully rest under summer-like conditions.
