PEAC-WMD Version 5.1 was
released last month (version 5.0 was released in
December). Notification has been sent out to
our customers via email and/or postal mail for customers
under current tech support. Customers with a
current license under support for PEAC-WMD can download
the update from our website. CD's containing the update
will not be sent out unless the customer cannot download
the file(s) from the website and contacts us.
How to get
updates
1. Get your username and
password from the product CD sleeve.
2. Go to http://www.aristatek.com
and click on "Customer Service" and "Login" (or click here), as shown in Figure
1 and Figure 2 below.

3.
Carefully enter the username and password. These are
case sensitive and often contain an underscore. Note
that the password often alternates letter, number,
letter, number, etc., so do not confuse a letter
"I" for a number "1". It
often looks like this: I.

4. If you have not
registered your license yet, your only option
will be "Registration." This only needs to be done
once for each license.
5. Once you have
registered, go to "File Download".
6. Make the
selections that pertain to your license, or select "All"
and "Both" to see everything, as shown in Figure
3.
7.
Click on the file description link to begin
downloading. You should have the option to “Save”
the file or “Open” the file. (Recommended to “Save”
file.)

Executables vs Zip
files
The
executable files are recommended because they are
easier to run and install. However, many people are
behind a firewall that does not allow them to download
.exe files.
For those who cannot download the
.exe files, you can download the zip files. These files
must be saved, then extracted or unzipped, then
installed. Once downloaded, right-click on the
file and select "Extract All…." This will create a
folder of files, as shown in Figure 4. To
install, double-click on the “SETUP.EXE” file.

How to update the Windows

Simply run the
installation (.exe) files and the new version will be
installed over the old one.

5.

program.
To install just the updated database
files, see further below.
How to check
your version
In the PEAC-WMD program, click on
"Help" and "About." The latest version reads 5.11,
as seen in Figure 7. If your version reads
5.10, please proceed with the updates to ensure it is
the latest version. (There was a minor change from
5.10 to 5.11.)

Saving (updating)
database files
If you need to download and
re-install the PEAC-WMD main database (PEACWMD.db), save
it to the "MainData" subfolder in the program
files. For the Windows® version, it is typically
located in “My Computer” at ”C:\ Program
Files\Aristatek\PEACWMD5\MainData\", as in Figure
8. Other database files are usually stored in
the "ReferenceData" subfolder.

Database Files - Windows

For the Pocket PC
version, the file structure and directions are
similar. Sync the Pocket PC with the
computer. Then move or transfer the file to: "My
Device\Program Files\AristaTek\" then the "MainData" or
"ReferenceData" subfolder. See Figure 9
below.
