Many
of our customers and future customers are looking to
purchase the PEAC-WMD software using the FY05 grant
funds provided by ODP. The PEAC-WMD software (both
the Windows and the Pocket PC versions) qualifies under
the FY05 Homeland Security Grant Program and
meets specific categories of the Approved Equipment
List (AEL) as found on the Responder Knowledge
Base (RKB) located on the web at: http://www2.rkb.mipt.org/.
It recently
came to AristaTek’s attention that even though the
information on the PEAC-WMD software had been passed to
the RKB in the spring of 2004, it had not been linked to
all the appropriate AEL categories. This mistake
is currently being resolved.
The
following discussion should help a grant applicant who
desires to include the PEAC-WMD products on their
FY05 Homeland Security Grant Application some
assistance in locating the PEAC-WMD products and their
proper categories on the AEL.
A grant
applicant can view the descriptions of the PEAC-WMD
software (both the Windows and Pocket PC versions) and
the integrated PEAC-WMD systems (PEAC-WMD for the Pocket
PC software on two different types of PDAs). You must first
enter the RKB site (follow the link above) and enter as
a “Guest”. You can then do a search for "PEAC-WMD",or
simply click
here to
view the PEAC-WMD products listed in the AEL on the RKB
site.
A screen similar to Figure 1
will appear that displays the current four product
descriptions provided to the RKB. Click on the
desired description (PEAC‑WMD for Windows in this
example) as shown in Figure 1, and a description similar
to that shown in Figure 2 will appear.

Currently the PEAC-WMD
software is linked to just a few AEL categories, e.g.,
the Software, CBRNE/commercial chemical/hazard
category under the Information Technology
listing. This can be demonstrated by browsing the
AEL and clicking on the Software, CBRNE/commercial
chemical/hazard category as shown in Figure 3 (http://www2.rkb.mipt.org/ael_fy2005.cfm
) which will display a screen similar to Figure 4 (http://www2.rkb.mipt.org/contentdetail.cfm?content_id=80397
).

AristaTek has been in contact
with the folks that manage the RKB and at a minimum the
following AEL categories will be linked to the PEAC-WMD
software and integrated system options in the very near
future. If a grant applicant needs additional
information or assistance, please contact AristaTek
either by phone (toll free) 877-912-2200 or 307-721-2126
or by email: info@aristatek.com.
